Ace YouTuber and social media influencer Ashish Chanchlani spoke his heart out in a series of tweets on Sunday. After 8 months finally, Cinema Halls are open again for the public, and Chanchlani whose father is into this business got emotional for being into the movie theatre after so long. As per his social media post, he met all the staff members and was overwhelmed with the experience of the magic of the big screen again.
Leading content creator Chanchlani expressed his concern over people boycotting cinema these days. Sharing his thought he wrote “I don’t know what complaints people have with cinemas? People are boycotting cinemas now? Why? My dad is in this business past 30 years and his entire livelihood has been dependent on the exhibition business. We suffered a huge loss this year. It’s an emotional moment for us. Why are people hating There are around 50 staff members whose past 6 months’ salaries were skipped because of all the losses (we paid for the first 2 months). Today seeing their happy faces with the hopes of employment is very empowering. What’s the point of hating on us?”
Further, he urged people not to boycott but support people who are into the business of cinemas and theatres. He also requested people to go watch movies in single screen theatres if they find tickets are expensive in multiplexes. He used hashtag #ChaloCinema and requested people to support this business. Indeed 2020 has been very tough for the entertainment business. Shootings were stopped due to Covid 19 outbreak and cinema halls are closed since March. Yashraj Films has completed 50 years and to celebrate this occasion, all popular films from the Yashraj banner are now screening in theatres with just INR 50 per ticket to bring the audience back to cinema halls.
Recently Chanchlani has started new parallel content on his YouTube channel ACV Hatke which received a very good response from the audience. He is among the most popular YouTubers in India with over 22.2 million subscribers and 9.6 million followers on Instagram. He is also active on Twitter and has over 1.8 million followers. Chanchlani is among few social media influencers who are very vocal in terms of issues that need to be addressed. So far he has been creating entertaining and comedy videos and with this, he might start creator content on social issues.
